Shin Tae-yong Reminded PSSI To Maintain Good Relationships With The U-19 National Team Players Club

JAKARTA - Indonesian U-19 national team coach Shin Tae-yong reminded PSSI to continue to maintain good relations with the U-19 national team players so that their foster children can develop.

"Hopefully good relations with the club are always maintained so that the players get the best while there," said the South Korean national team coach at the 2018 World Cup quoted from the PSSI TV Youtube channel monitored by Antara , Monday.

Witan Sulaeman and Elkan Baggott will leave the U-19 national team starting October 24, 2020 to strengthen their team in Europe.

Witan will return to play for Serbian League club FK Radnik Surdulica, while Elkan flew to England because he was called by his club, Ipswich Town. Shin hopes that Witan and Elkan can maintain their performance when they return to strengthen their respective clubs.

"Hopefully they can maintain the level of play," said Shin.

Witan is the main choice of U-19 national team coach Shin Tae-yong on the right wing and has always played in 10 trial matches during the training camp (TC) in Croatia. The 18-year-old has made three goals and two assists in Croatia. The goal record is the highest in the U-19 national team.

Elkan, meanwhile, is the center-back that Shin continues to trust in the squad after making his debut on Sunday, October 11 against North Macedonia and has always been trusted to be in the first eleven.

"Witan and Elkan have so far been the core players of the U-19 national team," said Shin.

The U-19 national team has been in Croatia since the end of August 2020 to undergo a training camp (TC). Until this news was revealed, the squad trained by Shin Tae-yong has undergone 10 trial matches with the results of four wins, three draws and three defeats.

The TC is a preparation for the U-19 Asian Cup which is planned to be held in early 2021 in Uzbekistan. After the U-19 Asian Cup, the U-19 national team is projected to compete in the 2021 U-20 World Cup which will be held on 20 May-12 June 2021 in Indonesia.
