PSSI Clarifies Shin Tae-yong's Sayings About The Training Field, Secretary General: It Shouldn't Have Been A Polemic, Let Alone The Media

JAKARTA - The statement by the coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, regarding the cancellation of training because the field has not been booked, has a long tail. PSSI provides clarification.

PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi said his party had ordered the field as requested by Shin Tae-yong. They ordered the field from 18.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB.

"However, suddenly a few hours before practice, Shin Tae-yong asked to be changed suddenly and accelerated to 17.00 WIB, the field was still being used so we couldn't use it," said Yunus Nusi on the PSSI official website, Friday, May 27.

"The manager of the Madya Stadium gave information from 18.00 to 20.00 WIB and this has been informed to coach Shin Tae-yong," he continued.

He added that PSSI always asked the coaches for the Indonesian national team's training schedule in advance. However, in yesterday's case, Shin Tae-yong was said to have given a schedule a few days before the training camp and asked for a sudden change.

Yunus Nusi later regretted that this had become a public polemic. According to him, this is just a misunderstanding.

"Small misunderstandings like this shouldn't need to be polemized. Especially when it comes out to the media," said Yunus Nusi.

Previously reported, Shin Tae-yong admitted that his team had canceled training at the Madya Stadium, Thursday, May 26, because the field had not been booked. He hoped that this would not happen again in the future.

"I'm a bit embarrassed to say this. When we were about to go to the field, there was news that the stadium had not been booked," Shin told reporters.

"There are no problems for today because we are only training for recovery. However, in the future, this should not happen again," he continued.
