Mauricio Pochettino 100 Percent Stays At PSG, Thanks To Kylian Mbappe?

JAKARTA - The coach of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Mauricio Pochettino, has finally spoken about his future. He confirmed that he would last another season with the Ligue 1 club.

Pochettino insists he is still under contract with PSG until June 2023.

"I once said I am 100 per cent staying here. Today I told you I am 100 per cent here," Pochettino said in an interview with COPE, as reported by Bein Sports.

"I still have one more year on my contract. The challenge lies ahead and that motivates all coaches," he continued.

The man from Argentina reiterated that he wanted to continue his work. According to him, PSG is a club full of ambition.

He is also ready to answer the challenge by presenting the Champions League trophy next season. "The big disappointment is the Champions League because that is what everyone here wants," he said.

Previously, it was widely reported that PSG would expel Pochettino after failing to realize the club's mission to win the Champions League trophy. There are a number of names that are predicted to be his replacement candidates.

However, PSG changed their minds and still put their trust in Pochettino, at least until the coach's contract ended. Kylian Mbappe is said to have played a role behind the decision.

Mbappe reportedly asked PSG management to keep the coach. Understandably, the two have a fairly close relationship.

Responding to this news, Pochettino said, "I don't think it (the relationship with Mbappe is decisive). I will be judged by work," he said.

"We have won all the titles that the previous coach has won. It is earned regularly, and you have to give awards. This league is not easy," continued the PSG coach.
