Excellent! Odekta Naibaho Donates 37th Gold For Indonesia From Marathon Numbers

JAKARTA – Odekta Elvina Naibaho added a gold medal for Indonesia at the 2021 SEA Games Hanoi. She got a gold medal after winning the women's marathon number.

The 30-year-old figure came out as the best, defeating the Philippines representative Christine Hallasgo on Thursday, May 19 morning. Meanwhile, the bronze medal was won by Singapore runner Jasmine Goh.

From the athlete branch, this is the second gold in the biennial event. Previously, the athlete had bagged the first gold through the shot put athlete Eki Febri Ekawati.

This achievement made Indonesia end the women's marathon fasting in the last 11 years. Triyaningsih was the last athlete to give gold to the Red and White at the 2011 SEA Games in Indonesia.

From the marathon, medals for Indonesia were also successfully donated by Agus Prayogo. The 36-year-old athlete secured a silver medal after losing to representatives from Vietnam and outperforming his opponent from Thailand.

The gold medal that Odekta got was the 37th gold medal for Indonesia. As of 09.30 am, Indonesia has collected a total of 136 medals, including 50 silver medals and 49 bronze medals.

This result makes Indonesia move up to the top four of the standings. The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam are the hosts for Indonesia, which have collected 126 gold medals.
