It's Just That, McGregor Accuses Gaethje Of Pretending To Sleep When He Was Beaten By Oliveira By Strangling

JAKARTA - UFC fighter Conor McGregor accused Justin Gaethje of pretending to be asleep when he lost his fight against Carlos Oliveira at UFC 274 last weekend.

Michael Chandler and Oliveira beat Tony Ferguson and Gaethje respectively in Saturday's event.

Submission king Oliveira ended Gaetjhe's fight with a rear naked choke. The Brazilian fighter ruined Gaethje's plans with a strangling technique from behind in the first round.

Meanwhile, McGregor was involved in a war of words with a number of fighters after the event. In a tirade directed at Gaethje, McGregor accused his old rival of pretending to be asleep.

"Gaethje is an asshole. So is the absolute number of dribbles he utters. Over and over again. A Grade A bastard!", McGregor said on social media as quoted by Marca, May 12.

"Birdbrain with a birdbrain manager. They are two bums. He's an asshole.

"This absolute clown! Pretend to sleep (when defeated by Oliveira). Bastard."

Previously, in the past, the two fighters had also engaged in a war of words. Gaethje once said that McGregor was afraid to fight him.

"I think he was scared against me and the coach was smart enough not to let that happen," he said last December.

"These people have been watching me forever and they are too stupid. He has no confidence anymore."
