Shin Affirms Players Must Be Ready To Play In All Positions

JAKARTA - Indonesian U-19 national team coach Shin Tae-yong emphasized that the players in his squad can change positions as needed.

Quoted from Antara , Monday, October 12, Shin also asked his players to be ready if they were not playing in their original position.

The South Korean tactician gave an example of the U-19 national team trial match against North Macedonia at the NK Junak Sinj Stadium, Split, last Sunday.

In the match which was won by Indonesia with a score of 4-1, Shin put Irfan Jauhari on the left wing.

In fact, the footballer from the Bali United club used to fill the position of attacker.

"This means that each player can later play in various positions according to the team's needs and scheme," said Shin.

Not only Irfan, during the U-19 national team training camp in Croatia Shin also changed the positions of several players such as Braif Fatari and Jack Brown.

Braif and Jack, whose natural position are midfielders, were revealed as attackers by Shin.

However, until this news was released, the decision was already bearing fruit. Of the nine trial matches that have been passed in Croatia, Braif and Jack each have scored two goals.

The U-19 national team has been in Croatia since the end of August 2020 to undergo a training camp (TC).

During TC in Croatia, the U-19 national team has undergone nine trial matches with the results of four wins, two draws and three defeats.

Two goals from Jack Brown and one each from Witan Sulaeman and Irfan Jauhari led the Indonesian U-19 national team to win 4-1 over North Macedonia last night. Previously, they had conquered Qatar, Dinamo Zagreb and NK Dugopolje.

The U-19 national team TC is a preparation for the U-19 Asian Cup which is planned to be held in early 2021 in Uzbekistan.

After the U-19 Asian Cup, the U-19 national team is projected to compete in the 2021 U-20 World Cup which will be held on 20 May-12 June 2021 in Indonesia.
