Five Ducati Riders Conquer Leading Position In Le Mans MotoGP

JAKARTA - Ducati will be a serious threat at the French Grand Prix. Especially after the five riders occupy the top nine starting positions.

Jack Miller and Danilo Petrucci are the two leading Ducati riders who will start from P2 and P3 behind polesitter Fabio Quartararo, according to the official MotoGP page.

The Ducati champions only need to avoid bad luck like in previous races. Like when Johann Zarco from the Esponsorama Racing team fell and hit Andrea Dovizioso at the Catalunya GP so that the factory team rider lost his position at the top of the standings.

Then Jack Miller was forced to fail to finish at Misano because the protective layer of Quartararo's helmet entered the Australian rider's Ducati GP20 motorbike during the Emilia Romagna GP two weeks ago.

Likewise Francesco Bagnaia who fell and failed to secure his first victory this season. Meanwhile, the factory Ducati team also lacked consistency, as Dovi and Petrucci struggled to adapt to the new Michelin rear tire this season.

"I am delighted to be back in the front row after difficult times. Since this morning I feel I have the potential to make good results in qualifying. Unfortunately in FP3 I caught a number of yellow flags and missed the chance to score a good time to go straight to Q2," said Petrucci, starting from the P3. "

"However, we were able to get good results in qualifying. Starting from the front row is very important for tomorrow, considering that at least ten riders have the speed to fight for the podium.

"After the last race in Catalunya, I felt a good sensation in braking again and the low temperature can help me too, so I'm optimistic to get a good result."

While his team mate, Dovizioso, will start from P6. "I am satisfied with today's qualifying results. I have a good feeling with this bike and even though I didn't have the perfect lap, we were able to start from the two leading rows, which is always our goal.

"Our pace is also good enough for the race. We have a number of aspects that can be improved to be able to fight with the frontrunners throughout the race, but compared to other tracks, I feel better here and that is why I am confident for tomorrow."

Francesco Bagnaia and Johann Zarco will attack from P7 and P9, ensuring that five Ducati will attack from the front three at Le Mans.
