JAKARTA - The pair Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan managed to secure a step towards the final of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships. The ticket was won after defeating their seniors, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, with a score of 22-20, 13-21 and 21-18 .

Jeremiah said that this victory could not be separated from their calmer and more focused game. In addition, they are also able to suppress Fajar/Rian with attacking games.

"Because the shuttlecock is fast, so who takes the initiative to attack, they have a great chance to win," said Yeremia, as reported by Antara.

This is Pramudya/Yeremia's second win against Fajar/Rian in an official event. The first victory occurred in the quarter-finals of the German Open 2021 with a score of 21-11, 25-23.

However, when compared to the meeting in Germany, the match between the two pairs this time was more exciting and there would be attacks from both sides.

"Earlier in the second game, Fajar/Rian changed the pattern of the game. We were surprised and could not anticipate it. In the third game we were more prepared," said Pramudya.

In the final round, the men's doubles ranked 22nd in the world will challenge Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik from Malaysia. Pramudya/Jeremiah said they were impatient because this was the first meeting of the two couples.

"This will be our first meeting with them. We have to prepare extra stamina, be ready to be tired, and play optimally. We can't wait for tomorrow's match," said Pramudya.

On the same occasion, the men's doubles coach Aryono Miranat said that Fajar/Rian's performance was very good. They were only asked to play more patiently.

"In terms of the game, I see that Fajar/Rian are already doing well. They have all come out. But what is called a win-lose match is normal," said Aryono.
