First In History, Women's Boxing Becomes Madison Square Garden's Headline: Katie Taylor Vs Amanda Serrano

JAKARTA - Women in boxing are taking a big step forward, as two undisputed world title bouts will take place at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

It's the first time that women will be the main event at the Boxing Cathedral, which has traditionally held some of the biggest fights in history.

The big fights include Ali vs Frazier 1, Lewis vs Holyfield 1 and Hopkins vs Trinidad which are the first public events since 9/11.

Katie Taylor of Ireland, the undisputed lightweight champion, will face WBC and WBO featherweight champion Amanda Serrano of Puerto Rico in the much-anticipated clash between the two empresses of boxing.

WBC is proud to celebrate this extraordinary and historic achievement by presenting a series of social responsibility activations in the city, to commemorate the power of women through WBC Cares.

The WBC, recognizing the prowess of this epic and historic fight, has created the "Celtic - Boricua Belt" featuring the flags and symbols of Ireland and Puerto Rico.

This unique trophy will be awarded to the winner of the fight, as a special prize and recognition of the highest prowess of the boxing world.
