Xavi Hernandez: I Made A Mistake As Barcelona Coach

JAKARTA - Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, was confused. He felt unable to motivate his team after three consecutive defeats at home.

After losing 2-3 to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League, Barcelona then lost 0-1 to Cadiz and Rayo Vallecano in La Liga. Everything happened at the Camp Nou.

After the match against Rayo Vallecano, Xavi admitted he tried hard to bring his team to the same energy when he first joined Barcelona.

"I made mistakes as a coach. I couldn't motivate players to change the game," Xavi said as quoted by 90min.

Xavi said his team played with enthusiasm in the first half, but it cost them. In the second half, Barcelona players applied different things, unfortunately it was considered not right on target.

"Mistakes cannot be repeated. We have to be critical of ourselves. That's our reality. We have to adapt to the wishes, the desires of our rivals," he said.

"We are very enthusiastic about a good journey, with a good match in the Europa League. Now, it is not at all motivating to fight for second place for a team like Barcelona, but we have to improve," continued the coach.

Xavi also thought about it and stressed the players should not be complacent. According to him, there are still many things at stake, one of which is a ticket to the Champions League.

"We have spoken to the team and have to give everything we have for the next five games. Next year depends on it, the Champions League is at stake," said Xavi.

"It's time to unite and take a step forward. Everything is very nice when you win, but in these more difficult moments, you will see who you really are," continued the Barcelona legend.
