Indonesian Mixed Doubles Still Have Work To Do Ahead Of The 2022 Asian Championships In Manila

JAKARTA - The Indonesian mixed doubles pair has homework to face the 2022 Asian Championships. The lack of communication between couples is still an obstacle that needs to be fixed.

Mixed doubles coach, Amon Santoso said that this problem belongs to the pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari and Adnan Maulana/Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso. This is also what makes both couples sluggish on the European and Korean tours.

"Rinov/Pitha and Adnan/Mychelle, I hope the communication between the partners can be even better. With good communication, the game will be more playful, the cohesiveness is closer," said Amon in an official statement.

Amon explained that non-technical problems such as windy field conditions were not a new problem for Indonesian athletes.

This has often been faced by representatives of Indonesia, both at the national training center (Pelatnas) or when participating in international championships.

What's more, the Indonesian representatives have trained twice in Manila so that they are increasingly adapting to the windy field.

"We are also used to Cipayung. So there shouldn't be a problem. We practiced these two days for adaptation and I think they are ready to compete," said Amon.

Indonesia will field four representatives at the Asian Championships which will take place from April 26 to May 1 in Manila, the Philippines. Three of the four representatives are Pelatnas pairs.

In addition to the two representatives above, Indonesia also sent the pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati and Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, who are non-Pelatnas athletes.
