Pep Guardiola Becomes The Fastest Coach To Make 250 Wins In England

JAKARTA – Pep Guardiola has now made 250 wins with Manchester City across competitions. He became the fastest coach to achieve this record compared to other coaches.

This record was obtained by Guardiola when he led his team to a 3-0 victory when they hosted Brighton & Hove Albion in the 30th week of the 2021/2022 Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, England, on Thursday, April 21 in the morning WIB.

In this match the home team and the visitors halftime in a goalless state. City's victory was determined after the break with goals scored by Riyad Mahrez (53'), Phil Foden (65') and Bernardo Silva (82').

This victory was Guardiola's 250th win since taking charge of City in 2016. Interestingly, he got this achievement in only 344 matches he played with The Citizen.

The record puts the 51-year-old coach ahead of Jose Mourinho, who has won 250 wins with English teams after 396 games. In addition, he is also ahead of Kenny Daglish who reached 250 wins after undergoing 429 matches.

Apart from that record, victory over Brighton is also important for City. The addition of three points made them return to the top of the Premier League standings, shifting Liverpool, who had taken over that position previously.

Guardiola's squad is now firmly in the top position with a collection of 77 points from 32 matches. They are one point ahead of Liverpool, who are trailing in second place with the same number of games.
