Down In MotoGP Portugal 2022, Valentino Rossi's Brother Complains About Weight Gain

JAKARTA - Luca Marini, a Ducati rider and Valentino Rossi's younger brother, has been confirmed to take part in the fifth series of the 2022 MotoGP in Portugal. However, before appearing at the Algarve Circuit, he submitted a complaint including about his weight.

Quoted from Corsedimoto, Monday, until the fourth series Marini still has not achieved satisfactory results. His best finish record so far is only in 11th place when appearing in the Argentine MotoGP.

While in the last series in the American MotoGP, the Italian racer finished worse in 17th position. Marini's record contrasts with the brilliant achievements of the riders who used Ducati machines at the start of this season.

Even Gresini Racing's Enea Bastianini has won two series so far. Regarding this matter, Marini complained about the problem with the speed of the motorbike that made her unable to perform optimally when competing quickly on the track, she felt that in terms of acceleration and speed she lost to other Ducati riders on a straight track.

In addition, Marini admitted the possibility of weight is also the cause. Apart from that, he said that his height which reached 184 centimeters was not a problem to be able to appear fast.

Marini does have a towering posture for the size of a MotoGP racer, whose average posture is around 170 centimeters.

"I'm very tall but I'm very careful with my position when racing. I don't think it's a matter of height. Maybe it's a weight problem, maybe four or five kilograms too heavy," he was quoted as saying by Corsedimoto.

The fifth MotoGP 2022 series will be held in Portugal. Taking place at the Algarve Circuit the competition will begin with free practice (FP) 1 and 2 on Friday, 22 April. Followed by FP 3.4 and qualifying on Saturday, April 23 and the climax is raceday on Sunday, April 24 which starts at 19.00 WIB.
