Wants Liverpool To Raise Level When Against Man City In FA Cup Semi-finals, Klopp: Surprise If We Was Instantly Good!

JAKARTA - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants his side to step on the gas against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday this week and improve their performance compared to last weekend's Premier League clash.

Klopp's side drew 2-2 after trailing twice to league champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday as victory could lift them to the top of the table for the first time since October.

"City were really strong last week and we weren't at our best," Klopp told reporters. good!

"The boys did a lot of good things in that game, but there are things and I know we can perform at a different level."

Liverpool reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time under Klopp, who has taken charge of Anfield since October 2015, thanks to Diogo Jota's winner, against Nottingham Forest last month.

The mayors of Liverpool and Manchester called for Saturday's game to be moved from Wembley due to the absence of train travel to London over the Easter weekend.

"The FA Cup is a big competition. So far we haven't even made it to the semi-finals, so it's our first semi-final experience at Wembley," said Klopp.

"Now that we are there it means everything to us... I hope the fans can come to London, I think the train has stopped, and we deserve the atmosphere for the semi-final between Manchester City vs Liverpool."

Klopp said he would make a last-minute assessment of Jota's fitness for the FA Cup tie after the forward picked up an injury during the 3-3 draw against Benfica in the Champions League quarter-final second leg.
