JAKARTA - The new coach of Rans Cilegon FC, Rahmad Darmawan, confirmed that his team would recruit foreign players to strengthen their squad. The players who were brought in had never played in Indonesia.

The 55-year-old tactician was officially appointed as head coach of Rans Cilegon FC for the Indonesian League 1 2022/2023 season on Monday, April 11. After getting the task, he immediately prepared his program, including bringing in foreign players.

"It just so happens that the players we will recruit have never played in Indonesia," said the former coach of Barito Putera and Sriwijaya FC on YouTube Rans Cilegon FC.

However, the names of the foreign players who were brought in have not been detailed by the coach. But for sure, they come from several countries that are familiar with football such as Brazil and Japan.

Rahmad Darmawan said that currently the targeted players still have contractual ties with their respective clubs until the end of this month.

"So, in May they can only join," said the figure who is familiarly called RD.

The Rans Cilegon FC itself has previously confirmed that the selection of players will go through the stages of discussion between management and the coaching team. However, the decision stage will remain in the hands of the head coach.

Rahmad Darmawan is not a new name at Rans Cilegon. The man, who is a military graduate, was previously instrumental in bringing RANS promotion to Liga 1 Indonesia after being runner up in the League 2 competition.
