JAKARTA - Indonesia only has five representatives at the 2022 Korea Masters. The men's doubles will send three representatives and two others from mixed doubles.
The Super 300 tournament will be held from Tuesday, April 12 tomorrow to Sunday, April 17. All representatives of Indonesia entered in the leading numbers in the championship.
Referring to the BWF website, Indonesia does not have the names of the senior players in the championship. Names such as Fajar Alfian, Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, and Jonatan Christie, were not on the draw list.
There were actually eight representatives who took part in this tournament. However, as many as three women's doubles had to be withdrawn on the grounds that they were in the process of healing their injuries.
With the withdrawal of the three women's doubles, only five Indonesian representatives remain. Three of the men's doubles include Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Rambitan.
Meanwhile, the mixed doubles pair that will appear are Adnan Maulana/Mychelle Chrystine Bandaso and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
These five pairs had previously performed at the Korea Open which just finished last weekend. In that tournament, neither of them took home the title.
The best achievements were recorded by Bagas/Fikri and Rinov/Pitha. Both pairs successfully reached the semifinals before losing to Fajar/Rian and Tan Kiang Meng/Lai Pei Jing respectively.
At the Korea Masters, these five representatives will enter the seed lottery. Pramudya/Jeremiah, Bagas/Fikri, and Leo/Daniel, will fill the third, fourth, and fifth lead, respectively. Meanwhile, Rinov/Pitha fill the sixth seed, followed by Adnan/Mychelle in the seventh seed.
