Making History At The Asian Championship, Listyo Sigit Appreciates Indonesian Road Race Racer Ayustina Delia

JAKARTA - Ayustina Delia Priatna takes the podium at the Asian Road and Para Cycling Championship in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Sunday 9 April.

The National Police Chief General of Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the General Chair of the Indonesian Bicycle Sports Association (PB ISSI) appreciated the achievement of the Indonesian women's road race racer.

Listyo thanked the 24-year-old cyclist for making Indonesia proud by winning a silver medal at this prestigious event.

"What Ayu has achieved is certainly very proud. I hope that Ayu and other cycling athletes can continue to improve their achievements in other major events," Listyo said in a written statement received Sunday, April 9, quoted from Antara.

On the same occasion, the Daily Chair of PB ISSI, Inspector General. Pol. Wahyu Hadiningrat hopes that Ayu's achievements can spur the spirit of cycling athletes to continue to excel. Moreover, in the near future, there will be two prestigious events, namely the SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam and the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

"We hope that this appreciation will be a motivation for athletes so that they can continue to excel. Soon there will be two multivents rolling out. So there needs to be seriousness in training and Ayu is one of the mainstays," said Inspector General Pol. Revelation.

Meanwhile, Ayustina admitted that she was increasingly motivated to achieve better results, especially winning a gold medal at the Hanoi SEA Games.

"I'm very happy because the National Police Chief, in the midst of his busy schedule, takes the time to meet and give appreciation. So it's even more exciting for the Hanoi SEA Games. Hopefully we can give the best again," said Ayu, who collected two bronze medals at the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games. Mud, Malaysia 2017 and Philippines 2019.

As previously reported, Ayustina won a silver medal in the Individual Time Trial (ITT) number in the 2022 Asian Road and Para Cycling Championship.

Ayustina finished second with a time of 33 minutes 59,275 seconds. He was under the Kazakh racer Rinata Sultanova who became the champion with a time of 33 minutes 24,632 seconds. The third position was won by Solongo Tserenlkham from Mongolia with a time of 35 minutes 04.082 seconds.

This result is an important asset for Ayu to face the biggest sporting event in Southeast Asia. Because, based on the results of the competition in the Asian Championship, Ayustina became the best among the participants from Southeast Asia.

Ayustina's closest competitor was Thi Thu Mai Nguyen from Vietnam who finished sixth in 35 minutes 55.420 seconds, quite far from Ayustina.

Then, there was a cyclist from Thailand Phetdarin Somrat who finished seventh with a time of 36 minutes 34.191 seconds.
