Threatened By Liverpool's Coup, Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola Has A Message For His Team

JAKARTA - Manchester City will face Burnley in the English Premier League, Saturday, April 2. Victory is an obligation considering Liverpool are still looming in the standings.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola asked his team to focus on this match. He did not want his team to be affected by the result of the match between Liverpool and Watford which was played some time before.

If Liverpool are able to beat Watford, they will take over the top of the table for a while. The reason, currently the two teams are only one point difference.

Currently, The Citizens top the Premier League standings with 70 points. While Liverpool followed with 69 points.

This season's Premier League competition still leaves nine games to go. So, anything can happen.

"(The focus is on) Burnley. We still have nine games to play, game by game we will see what happens. We know what we have to do, win the game, that's all. It's difficult but we will try." .

Ahead of this match, Manchester City had to lose their tough defender, Ruben Dias. This one player is still suffering from an injury and is expected to be out for the next three to six weeks.

Guardiola said, if Dias was injured in a very risky position. The doctors had told the manager that Ruben Dias could take a long break.

"It could be much longer. We are not going to take any risks, when he is fit he will come back. The most important thing is that I will not choose a player to play if he is not fit or ready," Guardiola said.
