The Postponement Of The Argentine MotoGP Schedule Makes Bagnaia Worry In The Mission Of The Title Hunt

JAKARTA - Argentina's MotoGP schedule change, which was postponed one day, received a lot of attention from riders including Francesco Bagnaia. The Ducati rider is worried that schedule changes will affect his target of winning the title this year.

The MotoGP Argentina 2022 agenda will only last for two days, which is different from the original plan which was three days. This situation occurred after the free exercise program was canceled on Friday, April 1 due to cargo delays.

The situation then made the riders will only undergo three free practice sessions, which were immediately followed by a qualifying session on Saturday, April 2 at once.

However, doubts appeared in Francesco Bagnaia's mind. He wasn't even sure he could start free practice on Saturday. His doubts arose because the motorbike had not arrived today at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit, Argentina.

Ducati had not received their bike until last Thursday, March 31. In fact, preparations before free practice are usually negotiated for two days beforehand, including motor set-up.

"We have to wait to see if we can race this Saturday. Because it is not certain that the cargo will arrive on time," Bagnaia said as quoted from gpone.com.

The chaos of the Argentina 2022 MotoGP schedule has made Bagnaia even more anxious. Because the Italian rider had high hopes in this session after reaping bad results in the first two races of the series.

Currently, Bagnaia, who is a VR46 Academy dropout, is still stuck at the bottom of the standings. He is in 20th place because he has only pocketed one point.

With that note, Bagnaia clearly wants to rise in Argentina. However, the desire to achieve a better race in this session actually faced another challenge.

With one day less free practice sessions, it could lead to even more contrasts according to Bagnaia. Moreover, if it is canceled, he is getting more and more anxious in the hunt for the world title.

"I really hope we can race, because one race less will make an even bigger difference," said Bagnaia.

"Now there is no certainty, we still have to wait if the race can really recover and be normal (in two days)," he said.

With one day less free practice, Bagnaia and the other riders will be more required to put high focus from the FP1 session in order to record the best time.

"That (time record) will be important, start well as soon as possible and stay focused," said Bagnaia.

"Fortunately, this circuit is not as complex as in Austin. Here the circuit is similar to Indonesia, both in terms of design and arrangement of the motor," he said.

"I'm still not comfortable because we have homework to do, but I'm sure thanks to the work at Mandalika, we can improve something," said Bagnaia.
