Not Playing, Rans Cilegon FC Brings Brazilian Legend Ronaldinho

JAKARTA - A big surprise was made by a newcomer to Liga 1, Rans Cilegon FC on Tuesday, March 29 afternoon. Not kidding, Raffi Ahmad's club officially announced the arrival of Brazilian football legend, Ronaldinho.

In the latest upload on the Rans Cilegon FC Instagram account, a short video containing footage of Ronaldinho was shared in the Brazilian national team uniform. Accompanying the upload, the club also did not forget to write a welcome greeting.

“Welcome Ronaldinho! We learn from the best! Can't wait," wrote RANS Cilegon FC.

Before the upload was shared, Raffi Ahmad and the club's ranks also held a club year celebration event with the theme The Extraordinari Story of RANS in the Pluit area, North Jakarta.

On the occasion which was also attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali and Head of PSSI Mochamad Iriawan, Rans Cilegon FC openly announced the presence of Ronaldinho.

Present at the event, Menpora in his speech said that Rans Cilegon FC's breakthrough which brought in Ronaldinho was hoped to continue to inspire the spirit of sports, especially football for young people in the country.

"So Ronaldinho came seriously. Well, this will arouse the passion of football in the country, especially young people who are now passionate about football. And our football is getting better day by day," Amali said in a speech quoted from Rans Entertainment's Youtube broadcast.

RANS Cilegon FC managed to qualify for Liga 1 2022/2023 after being runner-up in Liga 2 season 2021/2022. The Prestige Phoenix is not alone because next season there will also be Persis Solo and Dewa United who will join the caste.

Despite announcing Ronaldinho's presence ahead of their debut in Liga 1 next season, Rans Cilegon FC will not actually sign the legend of the Samba Team to play in Indonesia's highest caste competition.

Reportedly, Raffi Ahmad as the owner of Rans Cilegon FC only invited Ronaldinho to appear in the trophy match and also the moment of launching the latest jersey for The Prestige Phoenix.
