It Doesn't Hurt Even Though He Was Fired, Dejan Antonic Prays For PSS Sleman To Escape From The Snare Of Relegation

JAKARTA - Even though there are two matches left, the 2021/2022 Liga 1 competition still presents exciting competition. Not only in the top flight between Bali United and Persib Bandung, but also at the bottom which is prone to degradation.

One of the teams in the vulnerable zone is PSS Sleman. Although on the verge of being downgraded, a lot of support has flowed for the team nicknamed the Super Elang Jawa to survive.

The most touching support came from Dejan Antonic who was a former PSS coach who was sacked in the middle of this season. As proof of his love, without any heartache, Dejan prayed for PSS to survive relegation.

He also asked all the players on the field to fight until the end of the match. This was revealed by Dejan through the latest upload on his Instagram. In the photo that was shared, Dejan showed an inscription containing a prayer of support.

“We all keep praying for PSS and the players for the last 2 matches. Who's wrong doesn't matter, the most important thing is that PSS stays in Liga 1 next season."

Accompanying the photo of the writing, the former coach also left a message of encouragement for the PSS Sleman squad.

“Boy's spirit. Ale, Ale!! Thank you," wrote Dejan Antonic.

Behind the support of the former coach, Dejan had led the PSS Sleman match until week 17. Under Dejan, PSS was only able to be in 11th position with 21 points from the results of five wins and six draws and six defeats.

Meanwhile, there is currently one relegation slot that must be avoided. Two teams have been confirmed to be casted down next season, namely Persiraja Banda Aceh and Persela Lamongan.

While mathematically four teams still have to fight extra to survive and remain in the highest caste of Indonesian football. The four teams are PSM Makassar, PSS Sleman, Barito Putera and Persipura Jayapura.
