Win Over Norwich, Tuchel Was Worried That The Abramovich Polemic Would Break Chelsea's Concentration

JAKARTA - Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel admitted that he was worried about the condition of the team that was in the middle of a polemic, but also had to remain consistent. Tuchel is afraid that this situation will break the concentration of the Blues against Norwich last night.

Tuchel's concerns arise along with the sanctions imposed by the British Government on Roman Abramovich as club owner on Thursday, March 10 local time. The sanctions dragged Chelsea into chaos and a future that was not at all certain.

In fact, on the same day Chelsea has also been waiting for an away schedule to Carrow Road Stadium to carry out an English Premier League match. Luckily, even though the team was in serious controversy, Tuchel's team could play well by winning 3-1 over Norwich.

Tuchel admitted it was a difficult time and left him doubting how his players would deal with the situation on the pitch. but he then trusted them to get the result they were looking for.

"It would be a lie if I said I have no doubts and worries about the team but I also have a lot of confidence," Tuchel said.

"In difficult situations we produced a lot of results and good performances so we can believe in our mentality and culture at the club. We allow ourselves to focus on football not the problem out there," he added.

Furthermore, the German coach tried to stay relaxed and minimize the chaos at the club. This was revealed through a statement that he and his players will only focus on football and not other things and affairs outside of it.

"It's not as difficult as some might think. The noise (team problem) is there and of course it's another level of distraction but the (team) encounter remains the same and the fixtures are the same," explained Tuchel.

"But of course the topic is there, talks are ongoing, so there is a certain disturbance. The extent of the impact, in time we don't know how big the impact will be. We can't influence it. That's a good thing or a bad thing. It's a fact."

Tuchel's concern was in fact rewarded by his team's slick performance through goals scored by Trevoh Chalobah, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz. Three points at Norwich headquarters then make the Blues pocket 56 points to ensure a place in third place in the Premier League standings.
