Revealed A Figure Who Asked Persipura Jayapura To Leave The Indonesian League 1 Match, Was Subjected To Severe Sanctions From The PSSI Komdis

JAKARTA - The PSSI Disciplinary Commission (Komdis) has imposed severe sanctions on Persipura Jayapura following the decision to be absent from the Indonesian League 1 match against Madura United on February 21. The reason the Mutiara Hitam team was not present at the match was because some of their players were infected with COVID-19.

Behind this reason, it turned out that there were parties who asked the team not to attend and enter the field. Based on the results of the Komdis examination, it was later discovered that the person who played an active role behind Persipura's absence was the manager, Arvydas Ridwan Madubun alias Bento Madubun.

“Brother Arvydas Ridwan Madubun was not present at the venue and refused to compete. Play an active role in advocating and/or ordering the team not to attend the match," said the Komdis statement on the PSSI website.

The PSSI Komdis then sentenced Bento Madubun to a 12-month ban on activities in the world of football. He was also required to pay a fine of IDR 50 million.

Regarding Persipura's decision to not attend the match against Madura United due to COVID-19, previously the Mutiara Hitam team had sent a chronology of the decision.

They explained that the player who was supposed to be playing at that time tested positive for COVID-19 after carrying out an antigen test right before the match.

Even though from the PCR results from PT LIB it was still stated that there were 14 players in the first team because they were declared negative for COVID-19. Where the number of players available does not actually qualify for the match to be cancelled.

However, Persipura Jayapura later explained, one of the players showed symptoms when he was about to leave for the stadium. That's what made them decide not to be present in the minutes before the start of the match.
