Mentioned Towards Anfield, This Is Thiago's Farewell Message To Bayern Munich

JAKARTA - Experienced midfielder Thiago Alcantara on Friday bid farewell to Bayern Munich amid reports that he was on the verge of joining Liverpool.

Through various personal social media, Thiago uploaded a one-minute video containing impressions of his memories at Bayern accompanied by a narrative of gratitude to the German giants.

"Yes, I've made the most difficult decisions in my sports career," said Thiago, starting the narrative in the farewell video which can be watched on his personal Twitter account, @ thiago6.

"I will close the chapter in this wonderful club, where I have grown as a player for the last seven years," he added.

Thiago admits there have been many triumphs, joys and difficult times during his time in Bayern uniform, but admits he is proud to be leaving with the full experience of a club steeped in history and culture seven years after arriving as a dreamy young man.

"Here I learned to love a tradition, which I will leave behind but will never forget: 'Mia san Mia'," Thiago said, quoting a Bavarian slogan in the Bavarian dialect which literally means "We are who we are".

Thiago is also grateful for the good treatment he has received from everyone at Bayern since he arrived from Barcelona and experienced many fantastic moments both at the Sabener Strasse training base and at the Allianz Arena.

"This decision is entirely on sporting grounds. As a footballer I want new challenges to be able to continue to develop," said Thiago.

"Bavaria will always be my home. Thank you Bayern!" he concluded.

Launching Antara, British media reported that Liverpool had agreed to a £ 20 million transfer tag to bring in Thiago, who was contracted for four years and the transfer value was paid in installments throughout the duration of the contract and could increase to 27 million pounds.

Last season Thiago helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title, the DFB Pokal Cup and the Champions League.

During seven seasons at Bayern, Thiago has a record 235 appearances and contributed 31 goals in all competitions.
