JAKARTA - The red card received by Alexis Sanchez after violating Liverpool midfielder Fabinho upset one of the women. She is Fabinho's wife.

Rebeca Tavares angered by the dangerous tackle the former Arsenal and Manchester United player made on her husband.

The red card came at a bad time for Inter Milan who had just scored to close the gap and get back into the game.

However, once they had hope after making it 2-1 on aggregate, those hopes were dashed by Sanchez's carelessness.

Sanchez, 33, challenged Brazil star Fabinho and won the ball cleanly before his follow-up movement resulted in a serious foul.

That left referee Antonio Lahoz with little choice but to send Sanchez off for his second reckless foul of the night.

He previously made a tackle to the leg of Thiago who also deserved a straight red card.

Fabinho was able to get up and finish the 90 minutes of the game. However, his wife, Rebeca, was angry with Sanchez.

When Sanchez was sent off, he wrote on Twitter: "Bye Alexis" - accompanied by an angry emoji.

Rebeca is a former footballer and Fabinho's biggest fan and played a big part in the midfielder's move to Anfield.

"He's definitely the reason Fabinho came here," one Twitter user wrote in 2020 following Liverpool's win over Ajax.

"Yes," Rebeca replied on Twitter. "I'm one of the big reasons." Followed by a wink emoji.

Fabinho and Rebeca reportedly started dating in 2013, before getting married two years later.

Rebeca signed for Monaco while her husband was playing with the Ligue 1 side, but hung up her boots after moving to Liverpool.
