Holywings Finally Opens Up After Hero Tito Dies: God Has Other Wills

JAKARTA - National boxer Hero Tito died after undergoing five days of treatment at Mitra Keluarga Hospital, Kelapa Gading, Jakarta, Thursday, March 3. Reportedly, he died due to brain swelling injury.

Previously, Hero Tito had a battle against James Mokoginta at Holywings Gatsu Club V, 27 February. He lost by knockout after James' right upper cut smacked him in the jaw.

The 36-year-old boxer fell backwards. The back of the Hero's head hit hard against the canvas.

Hero Tito got up and sat down when the referee Teguh Tambunan completed the 10 count and decided a KO win for James. However, the boxer who has a fighting record of 29-16-2 (11 KOs) then fell back, and immediately received help from the match medical team.

The man from Malang was carried out of the ring on a stretcher in a state of unconsciousness. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for help.

Holywings Co-Founder, Ivan Tanjaya, spoke about the incident of Hero Tito's death. He explained that this was the first time Holywings had organized a boxing match.

He also handed over all technical matters to the boxing body appointed by Armin Tan as the promoter. "So we only provide places and prizes for boxers who compete at Holywings," said Ivan, as quoted by Antara, Friday, March 4.

Ivan then explained the standard of handling in the game that was rolling at that time. He revealed that the medical team had been on standby during the event.

In addition, his party has also prepared a special path from the stage to exit the building to the ambulance which is available long before the event starts.

"Hero Tito was carried on a stretcher from the ring. Then when he was in a special passage for evacuation, he was transferred to a stretcher to be put into an ambulance," he said.

The ambulance, Ivan continued, was equipped with a mini ICU facility, complete with an electrocardiogram (heart monitor), oxygen cylinders, including a mini ventilator to assist breathing.

In addition, there is also an automated external defibrillator to speed up the heart and check the condition of the heart, a liquid suction device, as well as minor surgical facilities.

"For the referral hospital, Tebet Hospital was chosen because it was close, not jammed and as a quick handler for initial action. Only then was he referred to Mitra Kelapa Gading Hospital because he had to immediately perform surgery on the head because Hero Tito had a blood clot in the brain," said Ivan.

"So we as the venue for the HSS BOXING event have actually anticipated events like Hero Tito as well as possible, but God has other plans and we are all very saddened by the loss of Hero Tito," he added.

After this incident, continued Ivan, Holywings will be more serious and careful in organizing the next boxing event. Like looking for a trusted hospital partner for all medical problems.

"This is done to ensure that all athletes are completely safe to compete and there are no serious injuries after competing such as an MRI check and CT scan. Holywings will give the best to boxing in Indonesia so that nothing similar to what happened to Hero Tito and other boxers will happen again. who died because of the previous match," he said.

Holywings will also provide compensation to Hero Tito's two children in the amount of IDR 5 million for the next 10 years.

"It is hoped that Hero Tito's two children can get a proper education and life after his father left him," said Ivan.
