For The Sake Of The Hanoi SEA Games, The Indonesian Patriots Pick Up Pelita Jaya And Satria Muda Players In The 2022 IBL Continuation

JAKARTA – The Indonesian Patriots basketball team began to boost preparations for the 2022 SEA Games in Hanoi. Recently they submitted an application to take three additional players from other clubs in the 2022 IBL continuation.

Quoted from the IBL website, the application was submitted through PP Perbasi letter number 30/PP/DN/II/2022 to the President Director of IBL as of February 23, 2022. The letter was signed by Ketum PP Perbasi Danny Kosasih.

"This is done by PP PERBASI as a form of preparation for the Elite Basketball National Team in order to prepare for a series of upcoming activities, where careful preparation and readiness are needed," the letter said.

The three names added to the Indonesia Patriots roster are Hendrick Xavi Yonga and Isaiah Alesandro Saudale from Pelita Jaya Bakrie and Kelvin Sanjaya from Satria Muda Pertamina.

Actually, IBL has a rule that there is no additional roster. However, there is an exception for the Indonesia Patriots because they will not continue the competition to the play-off round.

For this reason, IBL President Director Junas Miradiarsjah welcomed the request from PP Perbasi. They gave a positive response as a form of support for the Indonesian national team which is ready to appear in the multi-branch event in the Southeast Asia region.

"PP Perbasi and the national team have also coordinated with their respective players' clubs. If their home team enters the play-off round, these players can return to strengthen their home team," said Junas.

The 2022 SEA Games Hanoi in Vietnam will take place from May 13-22. The SEA Games event is part of a series of preparations and trials for the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup in Jakarta in July.
