Pau Gasol Inserts Gianna's Name For His Daughter, Respect Kobe Bryant

JAKARTA - Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol inserted the name Gianna Bryant for the name of his newborn daughter. This is Gasol's tribute to his late former teammate Kobe Bryant.

Gasol and his wife, Cat McDonnell, announced the birth of their first daughter, Elisabet Gianna Gasol, Sunday local time. Through a post on his Twitter, Gasol wrote how meaningful his daughter's name was.

“Our little one is finally born. The delivery went well and we are very happy !!, ”wrote Gasol.

Gasol's upload was immediately re-uploaded by Kobe's wife, Vanessa Bryant, on her Instagram account. Vanessa was touched by Paul's request for permission to insert Gianna's name for her daughter's name.

Launching Antara, Tuesday, September 15, Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant have played together at the LA Lakers from 2008 to 2014. Both have successfully won two NBA championship rings together.

Gasol is known to have had a good friendship with the late Kobe Bryant. After the departure of Kobe and Gianna, who died in a helicopter crash in January, he and his wife spent some time with the Kobe family. They travel with Vanessa and her daughter.
