JAKARTA – This season's highest national basketball (IBL) caste will continue early next month. A total of 132 games remaining in the regular round will be presented.

IBL will continue the competition after the series II in Bandung was temporarily suspended due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. The plan is for the match to roll back on March 3 to 31 later in a bubble in Jakarta.

"132 matches will take place at the Bung Karno Basketball Building," said IBL President Director Junas Miradiarsyah in IBL's official statement on their official website.

The number of matches will be completed in 27 matchdays. Meanwhile, the other two days in the period from March 3 to 31 will be used for rest.

March 3 is actually the date for the series III which is planned to be rolled out in Solo. However, the change in format due to the pandemic made IBL decide to continue the competition with a bubble system.

All personnel have started to undergo self-quarantine as of February 21 yesterday and are required to have the first PCR test on February 22.

Meanwhile, the second PCR test will be carried out by all personnel on February 27. After that, they will take the third test when they are about to enter the quarantine bubble.

"Security and health will remain our priority. We believe that with strict health protocols, hopefully the IBL competition can take place successfully. [Obviously] the cooperation of all parties is needed," Junas said.
