Anthony Elanga Was Hit By An Object When Celebrating MU's Goal To The Leeds Goal, The FA Moved Quickly To Carry Out An Investigation

JAKARTA - The English Football Association (FA) said it would conduct an investigation following the throwing incident experienced by Manchester United (MU) player Anthony Elanga in the match against Leeds.

Quoted from Talksport, Monday, February 21, Elanga was thrown by an object which then hit his head. This happened when the player celebrated his team's victory at Leeds United headquarters on Sunday, February 20.

The throwing incident occurred when the player was celebrating the third MU goal scored by Fred in the 70th minute. In that match, MU won 4-2 over the hosts where Elanga scored the closing goal for the Red Devils when the game was running in the 88th minute.

For this incident, the same source said the FA had also requested information from Leeds and officials in West Yorkshire for investigation. Moreover, Elanga is not the only player who has become a victim.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire was almost hit by an object on the pitch. Luckily he avoided and chose to take the object while turning his face to the home supporters.

Coach Ralf Rangnick said he was aware of the incident and welcomed the FA's response to an investigation. But according to him, Elanga is now in good condition.

"As far as I know, there have been a number of investigations carried out by the FA on Leeds United. I don't think anything happened in the end. Anthony Elanga looks fine and he is happy about the goal," he said, as quoted by Talksport.

Despite declaring the player in good condition, Rangnick insisted that such a thing should not have happened. Especially with the atmosphere of an extraordinary match.

Rangnick said at the moment his players need to be a little calmer on the pitch. Moreover, MU players were involved in a fight, which made Rangnick have to take to the field to calm his players.

"I don't want anything to happen, no yellow cards or red cards. In a moment like this, I think it's important to try to be calm,'' explained Rangnick.
