David Jordan Changes His Strategy For The Direction Of Scans To Change Opponents

JAKARTA – Daud Jordan will change his strategy against Panya Uthok early next month. The change that will be made by the Indonesian boxer is the direction of the blow.

Daud was supposed to face South Korean boxer Hwang-Kil Kim in the previous schedule. However, the potential opponent has already resigned due to a serious injury he suffered during a training session.

The change in opponents made the 34-year-old boxer also have to change his strategy. This is because Hwang and Uthok have different heights, so they need an adjustment to the direction of the blow.

"The opponent's character is actually the same. It's just a matter of adjusting because Hwang-Kil Kim is taller than me, while Panya Uthok is shorter. So only the direction of the blow is different," Daud said, quoted by Antara.

Changes in opponents are common in fist fights. Daud was told he would be fighting a substitute boxer in less than two matchweeks, but there was even a change of opponent happening at a much closer time.

Previously, Daud had planned to apply a short to long stroke strategy, but the change of opponent made him have to do the opposite. In addition, discussions with the team and coaches regarding what should be done in the next match also need to be deepened.

"With the remaining time, I continue to strengthen myself. I ask for prayers and support from the Indonesian people and don't forget to watch my match which is broadcast live," said Daud.

The duel of Daud and Uthok will take place on the nearest March 4 at the World Siam Stadium, Bangkapi, Bangkok, Thailand. The fight between the two is to defend the WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver title in the super light division (63.5kg).

This is David Jordan's first match of the year. In the last match in Thailand on November 19, 2021, he appeared convincing and won a technical knockout (TKO) in the fifth round over Rachata Khaophimai.

This victory earned Daud the WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver title.

Currently, Daud has been training hard and doing 140 rounds of practice matches at his boxing gym, Daud Boxing Club, in Sukadana, North Kayong, West Kalimantan, in order to defend his title.
