JAKARTA - Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick says he is on good terms with Jesse Lingard after the midfielder was not allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window.

United's board of directors reportedly blocked the transfer of this player to Newcastle United at the deadline. The 29-year-old did not feature in United's FA Cup fourth round loss to Middlesbrough last week after being rested by his club.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday's Premier League clash with Burnley, Rangnick told reporters Lingard and striker Edinson Cavani are both available for the trip to Turf Moor.

"Regarding Jesse, I have a very good relationship with him, he knows I am ready to let him go at least until the Mason (Greenwood) problem arises, he mentions a number of personal issues," the German said as quoted by Reuters on Tuesday.

"We now have to look forward, there are no issues between me and Jesse and vice versa. I am very happy that he is in the squad and he will be in the squad for tomorrow night's game."

United suspended Greenwood after the forward was arrested last week and later released on suspicion of sexual assault and making death threats.

Despite losing on penalties to second-tier Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, Rangnick said his team had improved in recent weeks and talk of a reshuffle was exaggerated.

"Overall, the team's development and performances over the last few weeks have improved," he said.

"Apart from playing together as a team in defense and attack, we invested time in our offensive principles and that showed in the games against West Ham (United) and Middlesbrough where we created a lot of chances."

United are fourth in the league standings with 38 points from 28 games or 25 points above bottom side Burnley who have three more games.
