Uber Cup 2020 Simulation Postponed Because Swab Test Results Have Not Come Out

JAKARTA - PP PBSI decided to postpone the schedule for the 2020 Uber Cup Simulation. This was done because it was still waiting for the results of the COVID-19 swab test as one of the routine health procedures carried out in the Cipayung National Pelatnas environment.

The Uber Cup Simulation Match which was supposed to be held on 8-10 September 2020 has been changed to 9-11 September 2020.

According to the Secretary General of PP PBSI Achmad Budiharto, the swab test was carried out last Friday. Apart from that, there was also a swab test which was held this Monday morning.

"We are still waiting for the results of the swab test because there is a new examination being carried out today. We want to make sure all athletes are COVID-19 free. So, we need one more day and have to postpone the Uber Cup simulation, ”said Budiharto as quoted by Antara, Monday.

Furthermore, he said the results of the swab test did not come out one day after that. A number of athletes who just underwent the test this morning had to wait for the test results until Tuesday morning, so that the Uber Cup simulation could not be carried out according to the original schedule.

"Today's swab test involves athletes who will compete in the Uber Cup simulation, so we have to make sure they are healthy and free of COVID-19 first. That's why we have to wait until tomorrow, "said Budi.

He revealed that the 2020 Uber Cup Simulation will still be played in two sessions per day. The morning session is played at 08.30 WIB, while the afternoon session is at 15.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, the Thomas Cup Simulation was held last week and was won by the Rajawali team consisting of three men's singles Jonatan Christie, Karono and Bobby Setiabudhi, and two men's doubles Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Pramudya Kusumawardhana / Yeremi Erich Yoche Rambitan.
