Persib team doctor Rafi Ghani, quoted from the club's official website, Saturday, said that the COVID-19 exposure did not stop at the nine players who had been quarantined.

"Currently, it turns out that the exposure to the Omicron variant of COVID-19 did not stop at the initial nine players, but the exposure also hit other players and officials. The total number of players and officials being quarantined is 27 people, five have been negative," he said, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5th.

In fact, he said, the current condition of the coaches is all symptomatic, ranging from mild to one of them having to be referred to a hospital for intensive treatment.

"The coaches were exposed, the test results were positive so they couldn't attend the press conference," he said.

The virtual press conference session before the match was only represented by Beckham Putra Nugraha, without any coaching team accompanying him.

"One person must receive treatment at the hospital, please pray for a speedy recovery," he said.

As for players, he said, up to now, more than half of the Persib squad have been exposed and most are still in self-quarantine.

Rafi explained that the average players were asymptomatic, but only one or two people experienced mild symptoms.

According to him, the number of personnel who were exposed and had to be quarantined could change, depending on today's PCR test, the results of which will only come out on Sunday, February 6 tomorrow before the match against Bhayangkara FC.

"We are still waiting, whether it will decrease or increase between exposures. Because this hit is also an important element to be able to hold a match," he explained.

The results of the PCR test carried out this Saturday will indeed determine whether or not the match between Prince Biru and Bhayangkara FC will be held, Sunday, February 6.

As a club participating in the competition, Persib ensures that it will always follow all regulations and regulations regarding the handling of COVID-19 during the BRI Liga 1, both from the LIB and the COVID-19 Task Force.

"Please pray for all of us, hopefully this difficult time will end soon," concluded Rafi, who adhered to the code of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality by not revealing the names of those who were exposed to COVID-19.
