Bring Garuda To The Runner-Up Position, Ikhsan Is Not Satisfied

JAKARTA - The runner-up position for the 2020 Thomas Cup Simulation Tournament was secured by the Garuda team, which was 3-0 ahead of Tiger. This result was confirmed by Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay's men's singles, who beat Firman Abdul Kholik with a score of 21-16, 21-15.

Coming down to determine the team's victory, Ikhsan admitted that he had a lot of valuable experience in this team tournament.

"Surely it feels good to be able to contribute numbers and bring the Garuda team to runner-up," Ikhsan said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 3.

"This is a lesson for me if I participate in the deciding party, I already know the tension. So I can manage," he continued.

Facing the older Firman, Ikhsan tried to play more freely and was brave enough to bring out his abilities. Firman, who is a left-handed player, certainly has different habits from other players, but because he has often practiced together at the National Team, Ikhsan has anticipated this.

"Earlier I tried not to die alone, increase speed and be more courageous. Your opponent is more senior, definitely more experience. If asked if I am satisfied with my achievement, I am not satisfied. I have to increase my speed and stamina," said Ikhsan.

The next two parties did not determine the position of the Garuda team, but they were still played. Men's doubles Bagas Maulana / Muhammad Shohibul Fikri are now fighting against Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira / Amri Syahnawi who strengthened the Tiger team.
