Timor Leste Coach Praises Evan Dimas: His Quality Is Undoubted

JAKARTA - The coach of the Timor Leste national team, Fabio Joaquim Maciel da Silva did not hesitate to give praise to one of the Indonesian national team players, Evan Dimas. This he revealed ahead of the meeting of the two teams in the test match.

The Indonesian and Timor Leste national teams will undergo a trial match which is a FIFA Matchday on 27 and 30 January. The two teams will compete at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali in order to boost the FIFA rankings.

Before the meeting, the Timor Leste coach expressed his admiration for Evan Dimas, whom he already knew quite well. The Brazilian tactician admitted that he really liked the playing style of the Garuda Squad captain since he was still playing in Malaysia.

"I know the quality of the Indonesian national team, I know a lot of its players. When I was the head coach at Kuala Lumpur FC, Evan Dimas played in Selangor. I lived two years in Malaysia," said Fabio Magrao in a pre-match press conference, Wednesday 26 January .

"If I was still coaching there in 2019, he (Evan Dimas) is one I would like to bring to my team," he said.

Fabio handled Kuala Lumpur FC in the 2017-2018 Malaysian League. Meanwhile, Evan Dimas, strengthened Selangor FC 2018-2019. Although not long ago, the two had faced each other in the first match of the 2018 Malaysian League.

From that meeting, Fabio was then able to read how the patterns and movements of Evan Dimas were on the field. The coach then did not hesitate to acknowledge the ability of Evan Dimas.

"He (Evan Dimas) has a style of play that I like from players in midfield. He can keep possession, a playmaker like that. I know his quality is unquestionable," added Fabio.

Apart from Fabio's praise for Evan Dimas, he also talked about the match against Indonesia. The 44-year-old coach admitted that he was not so concerned with the final result because for him the main target was to know how much progress his players had.
