Dorna Sport Reveals The Plus Value Of The 2022 Mandalika MotoGP Race

JAKARTA - Dorna Sports as the commercial rights holder for MotoGP assesses the importance of Mandalika in this year's racing calendar. The series is considered very significant for the prestigious racing event.

Director of Commercial and Global Media of Dorna Sport Manel Arroyo said that the high number of MotoGP enthusiasts in Indonesia would be a plus for his party.

“In Indonesia, MotoGP is the second most followed sport so far. There MotoGP is broadcast openly on television and all operators are interested in buying the rights," Arroyo was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

"In addition, it is an area that the government wants to develop in terms of tourism. The first thing that has been built is an urban circuit, but he also wants to build a golf course there, among other constructions,” added Arroyo.

The Mandalika MotoGP will be the second series this season after the Qatar Grand Prix. The race in Indonesia is scheduled to take place on March 18-20.

The Mandalika race will be history for Indonesia after the last time it hosted MotoGP in 1997. At that time the race took place at the Sentul circuit, Bogor, West Java.
