Barcelona Kicked By Bilbao From The Copa Del Rey, Xavi Starts To Get Confused And Give Up

JAKARTA - Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez was disappointed with the defeat suffered by his children in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey. Blaugarana lost 2-3 from Athletic Bilbao, Xavi also admitted he was confused and resigned.

"We tried, but things didn't work out for us. It's confusing because we don't know what else we have to do," Xavi Hernandez was quoted as saying by Football Espana.

In the match at the San Memes Stadium on Friday, January 21 in the morning WIB, Barca lost dramatically. The goal that was guarded by Marc ter Stegen was disrupted by Iker Muniain's brace. First, when the game had only been running for two minutes and was closed by a penalty in the 105+1 minute.

It didn't stop there, Bilbao managed to add one goal through Inigo Martinez in 86 minutes. Meanwhile, Barcelona could only reply to the attack through two precise shots.

The Blaugrana's reply was contributed by Ferran Torres in the 20th minute, followed by the second goal through Pedri when the match was running 90+3.

This defeat against Bilbao made Xavi feel the pain for the second time. Because previously, Barcelona also lost in the El Clasico duel in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup.

Despite Xavi's chaotic feelings towards his team, he still tries to appear professional and sporting. The proof is that after the match, Xavi still appreciates the performance of the Bilbao troops.

"I think Athletic played a great game. It was difficult for us to go forward, they defended really well," said Xavi.

"With incredible intensity, they excel in duels. They are very strong for me. It was difficult for us," he continued.

"Pedri's goal gave us a chance for extra time, but then came the decisive penalty."
