PSSI Chairman Wants The Women's National Team To Give Everything In The 2022 Asian Cup

JAKARTA – PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan wants the Indonesian women's national team to be able to give everything at the 2022 Women's Asian Cup in India.

Iriawan departed for the Indonesian women's national team on Sunday, January 16 evening. The release ceremony took place at the Kimaya Hotel, Jakarta.

"Today I am sending the Indonesian women's national team to the 2022 Asian Cup in India. I give encouragement to support them. My hope, as the head of their federation, is to show my best at the event," Iriawan told the media after the event.

The Indonesian women's national team confirmed themselves to compete in the Asian Cup finals in September last year. This success has become history because it has been 33 years since Garuda Pertiwi did not qualify.

PSSI itself does not burden Zahra Muzdalifah and friends with special targets. However, the parent of national football wants them to be able to give the best game that makes the Indonesian people proud.

"I hope they give the best for Indonesia. A total of 23 players leave. Determined to give their best in their country so that they can be proud," said Iriawan.

The 2022 Asian Cup final will take place in India from 20 January to 6 February. The women's national team joins Group B with Australia, the Philippines and Thailand.

Indonesia will face Australia in the first match of the group stage. After Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines are waiting for the next two matches.

This year is the sixth time Indonesia has participated in the event. The last time the Indonesian women's national team was a contestant in the event was in 1989.

Rudy Eka Priyambada's squad departed from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for Mumbai on Monday, January 17 in the morning. They arrived in India and had four days of preparation to meet Australia on January 21.
