Shin Tae-yong Is Ready To Help Indonesian Players 'through The Back' To Play In South Korea

JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, admitted that he is ready to help players who are interested in foreign clubs, especially clubs from South Korea.

The AFF Cup 2020 seems to be a blessing for a number of Indonesian players. After the event, a number of names in the Indonesian national team squad were immediately added to the wanted list, not to mention the club from Shin Tae-yong's hometown.

"There are indeed Korean clubs who are interested in Indonesian players. I can help from behind so they can play in Korea," Shin said in front of the media crew at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta.

The names that are reportedly being hunted by foreign teams are those who performed well at AFF 2020. Among them are Pratama Arhan, Ricky Kambuaya, and Alfeandra Dewangga.

"However, the next step is the task of agents and players. Agents and players must be able to do good administration," said the 51-year-old coach.

Shin Tae-yong with the AFF Cup 2020 squad just finished undergoing a five-day quarantine period on Thursday. Players will be sent home from their respective clubs before being called again for the next agenda.

The next national team is scheduled to undergo a FIFA international friendly match on January 20-31.

Shin Tae-yong plans not to call players who play overseas to this friendly match. This decision is in return for the kindness of foreign clubs to release players even though the AFF is not included in the FIFA calendar.

"So we have to return the favor. We have to give in. Maybe this time I will call players in the Indonesian League," he said.
