Lorenzo Insigne Completes Move To Toronto FC

JAKARTA - Italian striker Lorenzo Insigne will sign a five-and-a-half-year contract with Canadian club Toronto FC.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed the news via social media on Tuesday. According to Romano, the deal has been completed.

"Lorenzo Insigne has signed a five and a half year contract as a new Toronto FC player. Agreement finalized in Rome with his agent. Done, nothing will change," Romano tweeted.

"An official statement will be made in the near future, Lorenzo will arrive in Toronto with his family in July."

Insigne (30) has scored five goals in 17 games this season and the Napoli captain made his Serie A debut with the club in 2010.

For the Italian national team level, Insigne has scored 10 goals and earned 53 caps to lead this national team to win EURO 2020 last summer.

Insigne's future at Napoli has been in limbo since last year, as his contract expires at the end of the season and negotiations for an extension are practically non-existent.
