From Eng Hian To Ni Nengah Widiasih, Here Are The Recipients Of The Kemenpora's Satya Lencana Sports Award

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) gives appreciation to outstanding sports people through the Satya Lencana Dharma Sport award.

The award presentation was held on Monday, December 27 at the Wisma Kemenpora, Jakarta and led directly by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali.

This award is given to athletes and coaches who have succeeded in making Indonesia proud in the international arena. Starting from Eng Hian from a badminton player to Ni Nengah Widiasih as a weight lifter, they are included in the list of award recipients.

The recipients of the Satya Lencana Dharma Sport award are generally athletes who have achieved success and won medals in the Olympics. Of the five award recipients, badminton is the most fertile.

In the first place is Tri Kusharjanto. This badminton player received the Satya Lencana Dharma Sport award from the Ministry of Youth and Sports for his achievements in 2000. Tri Kusharjanto managed to win a silver medal when he participated in the Sydney Olympics.

Next is Sony Dwi Kuncoro who is also a senior professional badminton player. Sony was awarded this award for its successful achievement of presenting a silver medal when competing at the Athens Olympics in 2004.

Not only Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Eng Hian who also participated in the 2004 Athens Olympics also filled the list of award recipients. Because that time Eng Hian also brought home a bronze medal for Indonesia.

Not only from badminton, the Satya Lencana award was also given to the paralympic weightlifting athlete, Ni Nengah Widiasih. The athlete from Bali was awarded the award for making Indonesia proud at the 2016 Rio de Jainero Paralympics with a bronze medal.

Finally, the Satya Lencana Dharma Olahrahga award was given to non-athlete sports actors. This award was given by the Kemenpora to weightlifting coach Coni Ruswanto.
