JAKARTA - The referee took the legal route in League 3 who became the victim of beating players until they were battered. He chose to report the incident to the authorities for action.

It was previously known that the beating incident occurred when the referee was leading the PS Gasma Enrekang vs. Granny Mallomo Sidrap match in the Liga 3 competition. The match which was held at the Bumi Massenrempulu Stadium, Enrekang, on Friday, December 24, had to be stopped in the first round due to unavoidable chaos.

Based on a viral video on social media, one of the players was seen hitting the referee which sparked a commotion. As a result, the referee suffered injuries to his eyelids until they were battered and covered in blood, with that situation the referee was rushed to the nearest hospital.

This inappropriate action then made the referee who was the victim chose to take it to the authorities. Enrekang Police Chief, AKBP Andi Sijaya confirmed the incident.

He said the victim, who was the referee who led the match, had reported it to the police.

"Yes, that's right, the victim has reported what happened to him," said Andi Sijaya in a written statement received by VOI on Saturday, December 25.

From the victim's report, the Enrekang police have also examined a number of witnesses and also the players who were reported as victims.

"It's in the process, right now. Now the stage of examining witnesses, the reported and the victim have also done a post-mortem," he explained. He said he would provide further information when the inspection was completed.

"Later, after the inspection is complete," he added.
