JAKARTA - Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will relish the opportunity to face his former club Chelsea in the League Cup semi-finals after Hotspur confirmed their move closer to ending a 13-year trophy drought with a 2-1 win over West Ham United.

Tottenham, runners-up in last season's competition, made it to the semifinals thanks to first-half goals from Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura on Wednesday.

Conte once led Chelsea to the 2016-17 season of the English Premier League and won the FA Cup trophy the following season.

"It will definitely be nice to play against Chelsea for me," Conte told reporters.

"I spent two great seasons with Chelsea and enjoyed everything there, but now I am the manager of Tottenham and I am ready to give everything for this club."

Arsenal will face Liverpool in the other semi-final and Conte says at this stage of the competition there is no easy draw.

"When you reach the semi-finals to chase trophies in England it's very difficult. You have Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal, then Tottenham.

"West Ham, they got rid of Manchester United and Manchester City. In England their level was very high... now let's see. It was a very good game."

The semifinals are scheduled to be played over two legs in January.

The Spurs' last major trophy was the 2008 League Cup, when they beat Chelsea in the final.
