JAKARTA - Jake Paul, a Youtuber who is now a boxer, defeated Tyron Woodley on Sunday morning by knockout in the sixth round. The rematch between the two boxers took place at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
There wasn't much action in the first five rounds, although Paul was elbowed and suffered a facial injury.
In the sixth round, the Youtuber landed his right hand heavily on Woodley's face until he fainted.
It was the former UFC champion's second loss in four months to Paul, who won by double decision in August and took his professional boxing record to 5-0.
However, Woodley made it clear that he is not thinking about retiring. Instead, he said he planned to fight several times next year.
After being overthrown by Paul, the 39-year-old UFC legend decided to continue his career. He will forget the defeat to come back in better physical condition.
"I don't look like a slow fighter. I don't look like a fighter who doesn't have a fight in him. I have to make that choice. I had planned to stay super busy in 2022, and that hasn't changed," Woodley told TMZ Sports.
Regarding his performance in the ring, Woodley believed he won the fight until he dropped his hand just before the KO.
"One hand fell. And I saw it, why did I drop my hand? It was driving me crazy," he added.
Woodley, clearly more aggressive than his first fight against Paul, said he might not just fight the Youtuber in the boxing ring, as he wants to have a few different types of fights in 2022.
"I just want to do four types of fighting sports. One boxing, at least once. One MMA, for sure. And finish like a winner," he concluded.
