Goodbye To Leave Persib, Wander Luiz: See You Soon

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung decided to part with Wander Luiz. The Brazilian will certainly not be part of the team in the second round of Liga 1.

"PT Persib Bandung Dignity hereby announces that the collaboration with Wander Luiz has ended. The Brazilian striker will no longer be part of Persib for the second round of Liga 1 2021/2022," the club's official statement quoted Antara, Thursday.

"We, the whole family of Persib, would like to thank Wander Luiz for his cooperation and contribution so far. May success always accompany Wander wherever he is," continued the club's official statement.

Wander Luiz also conveyed his farewells to Persib Bandung and its supporters via his Instagram upload @wanderluiiz_ on Thursday morning.

Wander Luiz explained his contract at Persib will expire on December 31 and both parties have decided to part ways in the Liga 1 transfer market this time.

Wander Luiz wrote, Persib Bandung managed to start the 2020 season very well and he was confident that he could become the champion, but the corona virus pandemic destroyed the dreams of the Maung Bandung team.

He continued to write, 1.5 years without football is a difficult thing and it is felt when they are trying to start a new season again and destroy the previous Persib Bandung rhythm and performance.

"To all Persib supporters and followers. My contract with Persib expired on December 31 and we decided to separate. We started the 2020 season in a fantastic way and I was sure we would be champions, but the Corona crisis destroyed our dreams. 1.5 years without football is very difficult and spoils our rhythm and performance," wrote Wander Luiz.

"I want to thank the team and management who gave me the opportunity to defend this great club and especially I want to thank Bobotoh for the amazing support, you will be greatly missed at the stadium. You are all top class. I want to wish you all the best. Persib in the future and for sure we will meet again. See you soon," continued Wander Luiz.

Since defending Persib Bandung from 2020, Wander Luiz has always appeared in 20 Liga 1 matches and managed to score 10 goals from a total of 1,753 playing minutes he got.

Before defending Persib Bandung, Wander Luiz was recorded as playing at Becamex Binh Duong FC before finally undergoing a trial period at the club from Bandung City and managed to get a contract from the management of Maung Bandung.
