Commenting On The National Team's Victory Over Cambodia, PSSI Chairman: Cooperation Needs Improvements

JAKARTA - PSSI General Chair (Ketum) Mochamad Iriawan commented on the 4-2 victory of the Indonesian national team over Cambodia in the inaugural match of Group B of the 2020 AFF Cup, Thursday night. Iriawan was grateful for the result, but he highlighted the team's game that still needed improvement.

"Alhamdulillah, we are grateful that today the Indonesian national team was able to win. Thank you for the struggle and hard work of the players, although there still needs to be improvements, especially in teamwork," said Iriawan, as quoted by VOI from the PSSI official website, Friday, December 10.

Furthermore, Iriawan also provided motivation and enthusiasm for the national team. He asked the players to focus and not underestimate the opponent in the next match.

"There are still three matches left. Especially against Vietnam and Malaysia, players must focus. Don't be complacent, don't take your opponents lightly and always fight for the best for the 2020 AFF Cup," he explained.

With this victory, the national team succeeded in shifting Vietnam from the second place in the Group B standings. Even though they both collected three points, the Red and White squad was ahead by a goal difference.

The nick of points can be achieved even more by the national team. Because, in the next match Indonesia will face Laos. The meeting has the potential to add points to Indonesia because Laos has just lost to Malaysia.
