Greysia/Apriyani's Key To Defeat Malaysian Representatives: Press Them Don't Get Points

JAKARTA - The success of the Indonesian women's doubles pair Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu in the third match of the 2022 World Tour Finals (WTF) tournament. Successfully winning a ticket to the semifinals against representatives of Malaysia, Greysia/Apriyani revealed the key to their success.

In the match at the Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua on Friday, December 3, Greysia/Apriyani managed to win. Through two games for 46 minutes, the representatives of Indonesia closed the match with the final score 21-28 and 21-11.

The key to the success of this performance is Greysia/Apriyani's belief that they don't underestimate their opponents. They also try to read the opponent's movements by not giving a lot of space.

"For that we must continue to press and not be careless, so that they no longer get points," said Greysia in a statement received by VOI, Friday, December 3.

Greysia said the opponent this time was quite heavy. Because they play quietly.

"The Malaysian doubles play without a burden and it is easy to recover on the field quickly," continued Greysia.

As for Apriyani, this Malaysian pair is quite tough and the pattern of play and calm on the field is very good.

"We were too late to attack aggressively. Fortunately, the coach reminded us to change the pattern of play and attack," said Apriyani.

Apriyani said that the failure in the 2020 World Tour Finals event was part of the improvement in order to perform optimally in this tournament.

"I don't want to think about the last match. Instead, we have to be more motivated to achieve victory," Apriyani added.
