Alessio Says Persija Will Sign New Players To Improve Appearance

JAKARTA - Persija coach Angelo Alessio revealed that the Kemayoran Tigers were negotiating with several names. This was done in order to improve the appearance of the team to be sharper.

Quoted from the club's official website, the conversation was carried out after a team meeting with management. Alessio explained Macan Kemayoran will make changes in the second round later, unfortunately for the name of the player is still a secret.

"The evaluation has been carried out, Persija is now in talks with several names. What is certain is that we will make changes to improve ourselves," Alessio said, quoted from the club's official website, Thursday, December 2.

"Hopefully we can bring in the right players, so that we can increase the strength of the team and change the situation for the better. But for now, our focus is to work hard to be able to give the best results in the remaining 3 matches of the first round," he explained.

The effort to bring in new players to boost the team's performance was based on the Kemayoran Tigers' inconsistent record until the 14th week. In the third series alone, Jakmania's favorite team only bagged three points from three matches.

Persija just recorded a 1-0 win over Persib on November 20, lost 0-1 to Bali United on November 25 and 1-2 to Borneo FC on November 29. These results then forced Persija management to make changes.

"We will do everything we feel is necessary to boost the team's performance. Shopping for players is one of them. Yesterday we had a meeting with all the players, to share perceptions and understanding of the team's position," said Persija President, Mohammad Prapanca.

"The tight schedule and lack of stock of players due to injury and being called up to the national team are indeed obstacles. But that cannot be used as an excuse, as a big club we must be able to respond to this situation better," he continued.

Apart from the plan to bring in new players, management emphasizes the coaching team and players so that they can perform optimally. Moreover, there are still three remaining matches in Series 3, namely against Tira Persikabo, PSM Makassar and Bhayangkara FC.
