Gasperini Is Not Afraid Of PSG's Coffers Of Money

JAKARTA - Atalanta will face Paris Saint-Germain's treasure club in the Champions League quarter-finals, Thursday, August 13 in the morning. Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini insisted his camp was not afraid of the French giant's coffers.

Atalanta became a dark horse team in the Champions League this season despite making their debut appearance in Europe's most prestigious competition.

Gasperini admitted that he didn't want to think about the wealth gap between Atalanta and PSG, and chose to concentrate on his team's enthusiasm, discipline and attacking ability.

"I've never made it a differentiator. Of course I read that they have infinite resources to make their team a top team, we don't focus on that even though it has a little effect," Gasperini said at a pre-match press conference reported by Antara, Wednesday.

"However, when in competitions like this, we have to reflect and find out what we can do and I think we have a lot of resources and manpower," he added.

Gasperini then commented on PSG star Neymar, who he said should be watched out for.

"Of course, Neymar is one of the strongest players in the world right now, so any team that faces him will be overwhelmed," said Gasperini.

"I think the best way to deal with it is to play as well as possible even if possible force him to help his own team's defense," he added.

In that way he hopes Atalanta can reduce the level of effectiveness of Neymar's game and increase the chances of beating PSG.

If they can continue their work to reverse various predictions, Atalanta is already awaiting the winner of another quarter-final match, namely RB Leipzig or Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.
